A total of 200 bottles or 1,000 Liters of Alcohol is being initially produced by Food Innovation Center (FIC) Cauayan for the front liners and health workers of Cauayan City, Isabela, who continuously serve their calling amidst the Luzon-wide Enhanced Community Quarantine.

FIC Center Dr. Rosalyn Bautista and faculty members of School and Arts and Sciences started today, March 23, 2020 the production of Alcohol.

To guarantee the quality and standard of the produced Alcohol, the Department of Science and Technology-Region 02 through its Regional Standards Testing Laboratory will conduct tests and assist on acquiring certification from the Food and Drugs Administration before it will be officially and exclusively distributed among the front liners and health workers of Cauayan City, Isabela.

This is one of the DOST’s ways in integrating S&T by being part of the solution as the country declared under State of Calamity as it fights against the continuous rising cases of Novel Corona Virus or Covid-19.

Meanwhile, the Food Innovation Center is a funded project by DOST-RO2 in partnership with Isabela State University wherein the agency assisted on its establishment including some of the cutting-edge equipment, laboratory design, and its water laboratory.
